Why hasn't my SIM card activated yet?
It can take up to 24 hours to activate a SIM card or an eSIM. If you've just upgraded to a new device, and your old SIM still fits, switch back to your old SIM card – you don't need to use the new SIM we've just sent you.
The time for a SIM card's activation can vary massively, depending on what the reason for the change is – most activations take between 15 minutes and four hours. If it's still not working after this time, try to turn your phone off and on again. If it's still not activated after that, try to re-insert the SIM.

Typically, you'll be able to use the device within a few minutes. However, in some cases, it may take up to 24 hours.
It's a good idea to keep both your old and new devices with you while the new SIM is being activated. know your new SIM has been activated when you see the signal bars at the top of your device's screen.
It can take between 15mins and 4 hours for a SIM to activate. If it's still not active, try these steps: Periodically turn your device off and on. Remove and re-insert the SIM card to make sure it's seated correctly.
Restart the phone: Simply power the phone off, wait a couple of minutes and then power it back on. Once the phone has signal, place a call to confirm activation success. Reset Network Settings: From your phone, go to Settings, and locate Reset Network Settings or Reset Wi-Fi, mobile, and Bluetooth (in some models).
Check your device settings
Make sure that you're connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
Using the cable that came with your iPhone or iPad, connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. Locate your device on your computer. Wait while your computer detects and activates your iPhone or iPad: If you see an alert that says "Set up as New" or "Restore from Backup", it means your iPhone or iPad is activated.

- Check the numbers printed on the SIM, and write them down.
- Contact your service provider via a phone call or email to reactivate the number.
- When speaking with the customer service rep, state your IMEI and SIM card numbers.
How long does it take iPhone to activate?
This process may take 2-3 minutes.
You can wait as long as you want to activate the SIM card. Once activated, you must purchase a plan within 30 days.

Simply wait for your iPhone to recognise the new SIM card, and this can vary from a few hours to under 24-hours (rarely). If nothing has changed, try turning your iPhone on and off again, or contact your carrier.
If you have a new phone number
Activate your SIM card in just one easy step: insert the SIM card into your mobile device and it will activate automatically.
Go to Settings > Cellular, tap Set Up Cellular or Add eSIM, then choose the phone number with a physical SIM. Tap Convert to eSIM, then follow the onscreen instructions.
The SIM transfer will take up to 24 hours.
