...
Request a Download of Your Data
- Click “Settings” under the account icon ( ) at the top of the dashboard.
- Choose “Privacy” on the right side of your screen.
- Click the “Request Privacy Data” button.
Tumblr will preserve account records, to the extent they are available, for 90 days upon receipt of a valid preservation request issued in accordance with applicable law.
To review recent activity on your account, scroll to "Active Sessions" a little further down on the account settings page. Here you'll find the list of browsers and locations that have accessed your account over the past 30 days.
It's where your interests connect you with your people. Tumblr's terms state that any information published to the service is public by default, but can be set to private. Tumblr's policies clearly state that they use third party services to collect information to display targeted advertising and engage in ad tracking.
Tumblr lets you have multiple blogs per account, but you'll have to go through the same steps to export each one. Once you've selected a blog, scroll all the way down to the Export feature and click on it. Tumblr will then start to process your backup.
Log into the OLD tumblr account. Go back to the Members page for the blog you want to move and change the NEW account to be an admin. Log into the NEW tumblr account and confirm you can post, change settings, etc. You've now transferred the blog to your NEW tumblr account.
When you delete your Tumblr account, your blogs, messages, and all activities are removed permanently. You won't be able to login into your account, find your blog using your URL, or view your messages.
In order to access the feature on mobile, you'll need to update to the latest version of the Tumblr mobile app. Currently, messaging is available to almost any blog, except those that are private or group blogs. And unlike the Tumblr “Ask” feature, instant messages cannot be anonymous.
The content you create on Tumblr is, by default, public. This means that anyone can see it, and that search engines can index it.
To check who views your blog's main page, you can use a visitor tracking system such as Google Analytics; any such system will, however, have the opposite issue -- it won't track visits by followers who view your blog through the Tumblr dashboard.
Why can't I see Tumblr archives?
To view the archives for your Tumblr blog, you only need to add "/archives" to the end of your blog URL. While most Tumblr themes enable you to show this archive page via a link or button, you can also add the HTML code to the theme yourself.
To help you find them, Tumblr has a feature that allows you to search for them using your email contacts list.

Tumblr itself will not inject malware or other harmful applications into your computer unless the core code that powers the website is somehow compromised. Simply browsing with the default Tumblr safe mode as a normal user poses very little threat to your system.
Tumblr is safe to use. If you don't want your blog to be seen by anyone and everyone, you can make it private. If you have a problem with another user, you can block them. If you see something that shouldn't be on Tumblr, you can report it.
To add an archive link, log into your Tumblr account and select Customize to adjust your current theme. Select "Add a Page" on the left, type "Archive" at the end of the URL and type something in the body of the page. This text won't display, so it doesn't have to be anything official.

Unfortunately, we can't switch blogs from secondary to primary (or vice versa), nor can we merge accounts, move blogs between accounts, or move posts between blogs.
Deleting your Tumblr account removes your primary blog and all secondary blogs. After deleting your Tumblr account, the user email address and blog URL you chose for the account will go back into the pool for reuse.
Creating a secondary blog
To create a secondary blog: Click the account menu (the little human) at the top right of your dashboard. In the mobile app, tap the account icon and tap your blog name. Click or tap “Create a new blog” at the bottom of the menu.
When a Tumblr account is deleted, all blog posts are deleted as well. Unfortunately, those posts cannot be restored, but by signing up for the same blog address again, you may be able to link your new Tumblr account to your email address and have the same blog address again.

- Choose a photograph or post from the Filter by post type drop-down menu.

Blocking someone on Tumblr primarily prevents that user from communicating with you in any way. He will not be able to see anything from you in his dashboard, and you won't see him in your dashboard. He will also not be able to send you messages of any kind.
NOTE: It may take up to 30 days for your request to be processed. When notified that your download is ready, revisit the Privacy Dashboard.

Tumblr users can run up to five group chats simultaneously, but there is no limit on how many they can participate in. Group chats can also be discovered via Tumblr's search function, and users can request to join any that attract their interest.
But Tumblr is practically dead, and TikTok is very much alive. While a Tumblr spokesperson says that 48 percent of its current user base is Gen Z, it's undeniable that the site's total user numbers have dropped off in the past few years.
Mastodon — Open-source Tumblr Alternative
The social networking website has a Twitter-like interface and a Tumblr-like community platform. The site has grown ever since Tumblr faced a ban on adult content as more and more people see this as the perfect Tumblr replacement in 2022.
Why is Tumblr using so much storage?
The Tumblr app sheds hundreds of megabytes without having to uninstall and reinstall. Cache is just temporary storage that Tumblr uses to speed up display of previously loaded stuff. Clearing this cache will not delete your blog, posts, drafts, queue, theme or unanswered messages.
How much data does social media use? Most social media apps – including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Tik Tok and Tumblr – all use approximately 1MB-3MB per minute of use, although photo and video heavy apps, such as Tik Tok and Instagram, will use more, particularly if you have the 'auto-play' feature on.
Getting your hands down and dirty using Smash Cache is super easy. And if you are still having concerns, then no, it doesn't have any impact on your blogs, posts (live or scheduled), followed searches, or other configurations. In fact, it only gets rid of the accumulated junk of your previous Tumblr browsing sessions.

On mobile, Tumblr is a major data guzzler, period. Scroll down your GIF-laden dashboard for a few minutes, and you are sure to lose a hefty chunk of cellular bandwidth — not to mention the rapid battery drain that you experience as well.
A very handy new feature for big Tumblr fans is that you can now do all kinds of things when you're offline, like commenting, posting and re-blogging.
Out of this 5 apps, only Zangi and WhatsApp have the least data usage feature (see the green column in the graph above). This trend of “least data usage” is likely to become a trend that other messenger apps need to follow to deliver a better communication service.
